Cloud 9 update
July 7th, 2005
We are anchored in the Chesapeake Bay now. If you are unsure of your geography, Michael has added two cool links on our web site to show you where we are and where we have been. Go to sailingcloud9.com and click on links then click on the win link, which shows you where we are now, and fast track shows where we have been. You will need to enter our call sign K6MAI on fast track to get our track.
Life on Cloud 9 certainly has changed since we re-entered the States with all of the technology readily available. First we got a flat screen monitor to watch DVDs. Then a TV antenna to get the news and finally, we bought a Verizon wireless card for the computer which allows us to have unlimited internet access right here on the boat. How cool is that? And of course, we have phone service most any time we want it.
Michael rebuilt the website and has posted our last 4 months worth of pictures. The area includes Panama Canal, San Blas Islands, Cartagena Columbia, East Caribbean coast of Guatemala, Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula. We had numerous problems during this time which resulted in the inability to post our excursions on the web site. I hope you enjoy them.
The first set of pictures are of a boat we are considering buying. We will do a sea trial next week to see how she sails. It is a 5 year old catamaran, Privilege 465, 47′,in like new/unused condition. We love the sailing life style, but don’t like several of the strains which go along with a monohull. We also want enough room for you all to come visit if you want. I think I will post our travel plans and then if any place catches your fancy and you want to join us we will have plenty of onboard room to make it happen.
More on the boat as negotiations progress…..
